With the recent announcement of Painted Tree abruptly closing all 60+ of it’s locations nationwide, thousands of vendors have now found themselves displaced from the collective retail spaces that they have known and trusted for years. There have been many voices of distress and angst in our local creative community and in creative communities nationwide as vendors hustle to empty their retail spaces with no immediate plan on where to turn next.

As the creative community comes together, Painted Tree vendors are being welcomed with open arms into other local boutiques and into markets and other craft show spaces across North Texas. In addition to the other vendor resources we have available here at DFW Craft Shows, I have spent the weekend researching Painted Tree alternatives that might have available spaces or have the ability to expand and welcome new members into their boutique families.

Whether they offer shelf space or full booths for rent, here are some local boutiques and Painted Tree alternatives you might want to check out. Please let me know if I have missed one of your favorite boutiques in Dallas Fort Worth and I will get it added ASAP.

The next step forward

Collective retail spaces can be an easy and convenient way to build multiple lines of revenue for your business. Vendor malls, local boutiques, thrift malls, and collectives can also boost exposure for your brand by creating a consistent presence in areas that might otherwise be outside or your craft show / event circuit.  For vendors who are unable to setup at craft shows all year long, these local boutiques also provide a source of income during otherwise inactive periods of the year.

The sudden loss of Painted Tree left many vendors with inventories they weren’t prepared to store in addition to the full shutdown of an established source of revenue and exposure for their small business.  It’s been a stressful few weeks gathering products from various stores and assessing the next step forward. The answer is going to be deeply personal and unique to each small business. I hope this list of Painted Tree Alternatives provides some potential solutions or inspiration on how to pick up the pieces and push forward.

To expedite the process of finding the perfect event, regardless of whether you are shopping local events or selling products at them.
