Best Drive Thru Christmas Lights in DFW [2024]
My family is getting psyched about the holidays, and I have been hard at work, making my lists and checking them twice. The first list I put together was full of fun Christmas Activities in Dallas Fort Worth, and now I am on to the Best Christmas Lights in DFW! Best Christmas Lights in Dallas Fort Worth
There are LOTS of Christmas Lights displays to be found across the metroplex. This list is going to focus on those you can enjoy from the comfort of your own car. (For extravagant light displays and other activities that you can enjoy on foot, check out our Ultimate List of Christmas Activities.) Okay, let’s get cruising thru your options for the Best Christmas Lights, presented to you in no particular order:

1. Christmas in the Square Frisco
FRISCO, TX – Tune your radio to 107.3 and enjoy driving through over 180,000 choreographed lights to 10 different songs while you drive through the square in Frisco. While you are there, don’t forget to skate the square, book your own visit with Santa, or enjoy story time with Anna, Elsa, and Olaf. They will even have horse carriage rides if you prefer to travel the lights old school.
The Frisco Christmas in the Square holiday lights display will run daily from 6-10 PM starting November 22nd through January 6th and is a wonderful place to see FREE Christmas Lights in Dallas Fort Worth.
2. Prairie Lights in Grand Prairie
GRAND PRAIRIE, TX – Prairie Lights is located at Lynn Creek Park on Joe Pool Lake in Grand Prairie and offers over 4 million light sets along over 2 miles of driving path. Need a break halfway through? Park and enjoy their Holiday Village with carnival rides, concessions, photos with Santa, walk thru lights, holiday vendors, and more.
Prairie Lights is open every night at 6PM from November 28th to December 31st. Guests can enter the line until 10PM (unless they reach capacity). Admission starts at $50 a car with Fast Passes available for $149. For more information on dates, times, and purchasing tickets, check out their website.
3. Sugar Lane Lights
HASLET, TX – Unfortunately, Sugar Lane Lights is permanently closed. What a bummer, we really enjoyed our drive through their lights.

4. Interlochen Christmas Lights
ARLINGTON, TX – Interlochen Christmas Lights is a 40 year tradition born from extra festive neighbors banding together to provide you and your family with an extra special Christmas Lights drive. This long running North Texas tradition includes over 200 homeowners and Christmas lights as far as the eye can see and is arguably one of the best Christmas lights in DFW. Interlochen’s Christmas Lights are also one of the larger FREE drive thru Christmas Lights in DFW.
Interlochen Christmas Lights starts around December 13th and runs through Christmas, from 6PM – 11PM. Admission is FREE.
5. Gift of Lights at Texas Motor Speedway
FORT WORTH, TX – Enjoy a ride around Texas Motor Speedway while you take in their massive Christmas lights displays. Thus far, their social media team has not answered any questions about whether or not there will be infield activities or Santa’s Village for the 2024 season.
Gift of Lights at the Texas Motor Speedway runs from November 28th to January57th, on select days and times, starting at 6PM. Tickets are $35 per car. For more information on dates, times, and tickets, check out their website.
6. Radiance! at the Ranch
WEATHERFORD, TX – Get ready to cruise around Weatherford while enjoying beautifully lit Christmas displays animated to all your favorite holiday songs. Millions of lights await you, sparkling and ready to help bring you and your family into the holiday spirit this season.
Radiance! at the Ranch usually begins around November 21st and runs through December 30th, but the 2024 schedule has not been released yet. Admission is charged per vehicle and starts at $35. VIP tickets are available for $49 and include less wait time, hot chocolate, and your own photo souvenir. Visit their site for more information and to purchase tickets.
7. The Light Park in Arlington
ARLINGTON, TX – Hurricane Harbor has become The Light Park for the holiday season! Enjoy millions of lights, lemonade, popcorn, and DJ Christmas music as you drive through this pet-friendly holiday park.
The Light Park in Arlington is open from November 1st to January 5th. Admission is priced per car and starts at $29, with a number of add-ons and upgrades available. Save up to 45% with their pre-season sale! For more information on dates, times, and tickets, visit their website.
8. Santa’s Country Christmas
SEAGOVILLE, TX – Bask in the glory of over 2.5 million LED lights while you drive through Santa’s Country Christmas 2 mile path. Light displays line your journey featuring a variety of colorful Christmas themes. After Thanksgiving, the walking paths will open with an opportunity to feed the animals and see Santa and friends.
Santa’s Country Christmas usually starts up around November 11th and runs through December 31st, but 2024 dates have not yet been announced. Tickets are $30 per car. For more information, check out their facebook page.
9. Christmastime in Texas
JOSHUA, TX – Christmastime in Texas is a mile and a half drive filled with hundreds of Christmas displays and lights. The park even has a special section of lights timed perfectly to your favorite Christmas songs.
Christmastime in Texas opens nightly from November 28th to December 27th, with a special Early Sneak Peek WALK thru on November 16th. Admission is $35 per car, but they sometimes run $20 – $25 specials on Monday – Thursday nights. For more information, check out their website.
10. Vitruvian Holiday Lights Spectacular
ADDISON, TX – Vitruvian Park is getting all dressed up for their Holiday Lights Spectacular and you won’t want to miss this show. Whether you want to walk the park or drive thru, enjoy a variety of colorful lights lining all the trees in Vitruvian Park. Special dates will include live music, gourmet food trucks, FREE photos with Santa and other holiday characters, and much more. This colorful christmas light display is yet another place to see FREE Christmas Lights in Dallas.
Vitruvian Park is open from around November 18th to January 1st, but dates for 2024 have not yet been announced. Check out their social media accounts for special events happening throughout November. Free entry, but parking fees may be charged on certain evenings.
11. Highland Park Christmas Lights Celebration
DALLAS, TX – Highland Park Village’s Christmas Lights Celebration and Shopping Stroll takes place on December 6th? (2024 dates haven’t been announced yet) from 4PM to 7PM, but the 1.5 million lights will be there for you to enjoy all season long.
Highland Park Christmas Lights Celebration and Shopping Stroll includes festive treats, Christmas carolers, face painting, and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Enjoy the lights all season long. Opening date for 2024 hasn’t been announced, but it is usually around November 17th.
12. Santa Land
TYLER, TX – Coined the first drive thru Christmas park in Texas, Santa Land offers over 2 million lights across 24 acres of land, all enjoyed from the comfort and warmth of your car. Enjoy handcrafted, animated holiday displays and a variety of original features. Santa will arrive on Thanksgiving and remain until December 23rd, and their trailer rides will start up Thanksgiving and run through December 23rd.
Santa Land is open every night from November 8th to January 4th, rain or shine. Admission is $30 per vehicle up to 10 passengers, $60 up to 20 passengers. Trailer rides are $15 per person.
13. Land of Lights Christmas Park Athens
DALLAS, TX – Journey across this 1 mile long Christmas Park with over 4 million lights and 50 motion controlled light scenes. Drive thru 6 tunnels and 14 arches while enjoying 60 scenes and 2,000 wood cutouts. Santa will be there every night from November 10th to December 23rd.
Land of Lights Christmas Park Athens is open from November 10th until January 3rd. Admission starts at $30 per car, paid in cash, or $35 via credit card.
14. The Light Park in Frisco
FRISCO, TX – Head over to Riders Field to enjoy the latest installation for The Light Park for this holiday season! Enjoy millions of lights, lemonade, popcorn, and DJ Christmas music as you drive through this pet-friendly holiday park.

15. Lights of West
WEST, TX – It may not be in DFW, but Lights of West is getting an honorable mention for a family fun filled evening of Christmas Lights, concessions, photos with Santa, and more! Ride through Lights of West in your own car or hop aboard their trailer train. Find your way out of the light maze and swing by to enjoy live music, letters to Santa, and more!
Lights of West opens November 27th and runs through December 30th. Admission starts at $35 per vehicle, up to 8 passengers. Trailer rides are $15 per adult and $10 per child. Santa photos cost extra. More details can be found on their website.
16. Farmersville Lights
FARMERSVILLE, TX – The website and social media for Farmersville Lights have been removed. I am guessing that means another closure, but I am looking into it. Let me know if you know anything official!
Farmersville Lights typically starts December 1st and runs through January 1st. Their website and social media presence has disappeared, so I am still digging to get the scoop on whether or not they will be back. This is one of the free Christmas light displays in DFW. Drive Thru Light Closures
Accuracy is important! That’s why we update our Best Drive Thru Christmas Lights in DFW post every year. Unfortunately, not every light spectacular makes it year after year. I’m going to maintain a small list of closures at the bottom of this post so you can find updated info if you are looking for info on your favorite lights and can’t seem to find it.

You should come check out Carmella’s magical centerland in Longview Texas if you have Tyler on the list we’re 38 acres and we have a walking trail, vendors, and a live Santa there’s no fee at the gate don’t we accept donations only
You should check out Farmersville Lights. They have free hay rides, free hot chocolate (donations go to the volunteer Firefighters, and the downtown and parkway are decorated with thousands lights. I think the Facebook page is Farmersvillle lights TX.
