Grab the family and enjoy a cultural adventure in Historic Downtown Carrollton (1106 S. Broadway Street) on Saturday, September 27, from 3-9 p.m. at Carrollton Culture Fest. Admission is free.
Formerly known as World of Foodies, the event has been expanded to include a richer cultural experience with more mouthwatering delights, live entertainment, and a broader celebration of global traditions
Carrollton Culture Fest invites guests to explore global flavors with a large selection of food and drink vendors representing countries from around the world including France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, and more.
New this year is Bevvy Blvd, an international drink garden coordinated by Downtown Carrollton’s own 3 Nations Brewing Co., offering a curated selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from across the globe. Some of the featured drinks will include a French 75, Frozen Margarita, Italian Pilsner, Italian Red Wine, and 3 Nations Brewing Co.’s TEXIAN Mexican-Style Lager. Whether a person is in the mood for a savory street food snack or a unique international refreshment, there’s something for every palate.
The celebration continues on stage with high-energy cultural performances throughout the evening. Guests can enjoy the Drums of Tahiti – Polynesian Revue at 3:30 p.m., SDK Bhangra at 5 p.m., Rising Phoenix Lion Dragons at 6:30 p.m., and UDA Samba at 7:30 p.m. After each performance, the groups will stick around to take photos with attendees and teach some fun dance moves, making it an interactive and immersive experience for all ages. All times are subject to change.
In addition to food, drinks, and performances, Culture Fest will feature a marketplace of artisan vendors offering unique, globally inspired goods. Families can stop by the Korean American Youth Artists of Texas (KAYAT) booth for a hands-on children’s craft, and guests of all ages are invited to create a keepsake with Kouka Calligraphy Studio, who will be offering free calligraphy crafts. Attendees can also try their hand at traditional street games from around the world, adding a fun and playful element to the cultural experience. For those who may need a moment away from the excitement, a sensory-friendly break area will be available to provide a calm, comfortable space.
Before leaving, remember to capture the moment. There will be a professional photobooth on the Square. Take turns posing for photos in front of a colorful backdrop, or choose one of the Dallas Yarn Bombers’ tree-wrapping creations and have a photoshoot with a friend.
