Vendor Picks: 6 Artisans You Missed at LHS Baseball Booster Craft Show ’19
We were so excited to roll up to the LHS Baseball Booster Craft Show a couple of weeks ago! The whole family spent hours wandering around the halls of the high school, enjoying the wide variety of arts & crafts vendors they had to offer. Then Halloween leapt out from the shadows and swallowed up much of my time over the next week, so I was delayed in processing my images and unable to share these fantastic vendors with you until now.
On that note, I hope everyone had a great (chilly) Halloween and that you are all now relaxing comfortably on a cloud of sugar. I turned my couch-slothing into an excuse to go through all of my photos and attempt to narrow them down. The end result is a unique, half dozen compilation of vendors showcasing a range of products from stuffed animals to steampunk, representing just a sample of the many talented North Texan vendors that could be found within the great halls of Lewisville High School.
Sweet Little Things
A sea of adorable stuffed animals put an instant smile on my face as we entered the LHS Baseball Booster Craft Show. Clearly, Sweet Little Things has been busy, busy, busy prepping for the Fall craft season! They have any animal you can imagine, in every color of the rainbow, and they were all as cute as can be.
Steampunk Ballroom
Step right up to the Steampunk Ballroom, my friends! You will find no shortage of ingenuity from this husband and wife team as they re-imagine jewelry, lamps, and more. Their booth is a wonderland of engineering and creativity geared at helping you bring a little whimsy into your every day.
Shanna Blair
Shanna Blair is one of three art teachers at Lewisville High School. It is always exciting to see our educators out in the world sharing their many other talents with the community, and enthusiasm practically bubbled out of my every word as I spoke with Shanna about her artwork. I find her bold use of colors to be very engaging, but it is her mixed media approach to these pieces that really creates a unique perspective.
Hodgepodge
Whatever you need to get into the holiday spirit, Hodgepodge has you covered. From their elaborate wreaths to their adorable woodcrafts, their talents abound and so do your options for winter decor. These cute little snowmen definitely caught our attention, and I started to wonder… how early is too early to start decorating for Christmas?
Permelia Creations
Every event has a show stopper, and Permelia Creations was it for me. All of these amazing designs are created by either meticulously cutting or folding each and every page? Just look at that perfectly sculpted, deliciously textured rendition of Jack from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
To Pixelate & Beyond
It doesn’t matter how old you are or what characters you grew up loving, chances are that To Pixelate & Beyond has got you covered. I wish I had gotten a picture of her pixelated mixed media pieces because they were quite clever and fun. Go check her out her stuff for sure. We had a blast bathing in the nostalgia of creations and the depths of her capabilities breathing life into them.
That’s a wrap for the LHS Baseball Booster Craft Show this year!
Thank you, Lewisville High School, for hosting such a fun show. I want to also say thanks to the many amazing vendors who put their heart and soul into their booths and continue to inspire us all with their creative ingenuity. I know it’s not easy work to build these inventories and set up weekend after weekend to showcase all your efforts. I see you and I think you are doing a great job.
